Affected Traffic Areas in Bangalore for Cauvery Water Protest

Bangaloreans are on the way to protests. And its because of  the old issue of Cauvery water sharing between the state of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Traffic situation is not bad – it is PATHETIC. There is a huge group of people marching, over 5000 in number and more are joining in. The traffic is diverted and will be via ring road but still the situation is very bad.  

 

Following are the areas where traffic situation is bad:

1. Basavanagudi

2. Rajarajeshwari Nagar

3. Deepanjali Nagar

4. National College, Gandhi Bazaar

5. Raj Bhavan

6. Anand Rao Circle

7. CBI office

8. Majestic

9. RV Road

10. KR Road

and near by areas.

Many top politicians including ex CM BSY and many other prominent personalities like Ambreesh have been the part of this protest. Effigies of Jayalalitha have been burned at places and there are blames on the centre too to be partial. Some banners saying “Government  creates problem for us every 10 years” can be seen. The protest will continue on Saturday and over 1800 schools, Banks, Offices, Colleges and thousands of shops are expected to remain closed.

Bangalore Petrol and Diesel Association BPDA has joined the protest and hence there will be no sale of petrol pumps from 6 am to 6pm on Saturday. Almost all of the petrol pumps are expected to be closed. Movie theaters and malls are expected to be closed too.

Even the cable operators have joined the agitation and they will not air entertainment channels on Saturday. Even the filmdom will stop activities on Saturday.

If this was not enough, there won’t be LPG supply on Saturday.

Protesters are expected to submit memorandum to governor.
