The answers for each of the questions are to be marked on a separate, specially designed, machine-gradable sheet of paper (ORS – Optical Response Sheet). Although, its a no secret that IITs surprise each year in terms of the question paper format as well as other things, this year there has been a change in the eligibility criteria for admission to the IITs.
Candidates must score at least 10% marks in each of the three subjects – physics chemistry and maths – and a minimum aggregate of 35% to figure on the common rank list. Till last year the minimum qualifying marks in JEE were worked out after calculating the average of the marks scored by all the candidates who wrote the exam.
